About Molly
New to London, I was born in Coventry and raised in Devon - a bit of a change from the big city!
I began playing the piano at six years old, taking my Grade 8 at 16 and my Grade 5 theory at 12. Classical piano offered a refuge for me, especially during my teen years.
I had always sung from a young age, but at 18 took the plunge to specialise in Jazz, later earning a place to study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I am now studying.
I am grateful everyday for the opportunity to share the joy that music has brought me with others. Music can offer so much to so many, it is just a case of finding it! Especially for SEN children, music can offer a creative outlet, whilst learning skills of self-motivation and discipline.

*I am also always happy to take on students who do not wish to take grade exams, but are looking to play for fun / without pressure.
I believe that in order to be a good teacher, one must work to find the most effective way to teach your students individually; not sticking to a rigid lesson plan applied to each student without thought. Each student of mine will be taught uniquely to any other, depending on their specific needs.
In the past I have taught children with ADHD, autism, and slow processing. Through taking the time to get to know each child individually, we were able to work together to curate an interest in music and singing, and find a way to make lessons not only the most productive, but the most fun!
A typical lesson with me may last anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on factors such as age and ability. I have 6+ years of experience teaching music one-to-one, in addition to having a First Class BA with Honours in Music, specialising in Jazz Singing, from the University of Birmingham. I am delighted to teach students from ages 4-104, with any level of musical ability and experience.
