About Seongbin

Hello, my name is Seongbin, and I am currently a postgraduate student living in Guildford. Having received private tutoring myself from a young age, I understand how a good tutor can make learning effective and enjoyable. I bring this perspective into my teaching, aiming to create lessons that are supportive, interactive, and I previously worked as an English teacher in my home country, where I learnt how to guide students of different levels and adapt lessons to their needs. In addition, I have helped friends learn Korean, guiding them from basic grammar to everyday conversation. These experiences have strengthened my teaching skills and deepened my passion for sharing.

About the lesson

Tutoring Approach and Teaching Method As a postgraduate student living in Guildford, I aim to make Korean lessons enjoyable, practical, and tailored to each learner’s goals. Teaching Methods and Techniques I use a communicative and interactive approach, focusing on building confidence in speaking while gradually strengthening vocabulary and grammar. My lessons are based on a reliable grammar textbook, which I enrich with clear explanations, original examples, and real-life dialogues. To keep learning engaging and relevant, I also design practical scripts tailored to each student’s interests, while adding cultural insights so learners not only study the language but also gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture. Lesson Structure and Duration A typical lesson lasts one hour. I am flexible with scheduling, but I recommend three one-hour sessions per week for steady progress. Lessons can be held either face-to-face in Guildford or online for convenience. Qualifications and Experience Although I have not previously taught Korean as a paid tutor, I have taught Korean informally to friends, helping them progress from the basics to everyday conversation. In addition, I worked as an English teacher in my home country, which gave me valuable classroom experience, an understanding of language learning challenges, and the ability to adapt my teaching to different levels and needs. Target Students My lessons are suitable for beginners who want to start learning Korean, as well as learners who wish to improve their conversational skills.
