About Lorelei
I am a high-energy teacher who believes that playing music should feel like a conversation. My teaching style is built on keeping things light and rhythmic to ensure you stay engaged. I have worked with 343 students, ranging from self-taught players needing structure to intermediate learners wanting to polish their performance skills.
We focus on rhythm, timing, and that essential hand independence that defines a great player. It is incredibly rewarding to see someone realize they can actually improvise their own melodies. I genuinely enjoy watching students find their own groove on the keys

Do you ever find yourself getting lost in the sheet music instead of hearing the melody? I center my approach around your specific goals, whether you are preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams or just trying to perfect your pedalling technique.
My BA in Latin American Music influences how I teach jazz improvisation and sight playing by emphasizing the feel of the music. I provide a short recorded playback of each session so you can review the details at home.
This method allows us to focus on memorisation techniques and accompaniment skills without you needing to take notes constantly. I aim to keep our sessions feeling like a jam session where you walk away with a fresh musical idea. You can expect a supportive environment where we turn technical hurdles into simple habits.
