About Kaja

I'm a first-year Aerospace Engineering student at Swansea University, originally from London, where I attended a selective grammar school and studied Maths, Physics, and Economics at A-Level.

Before university I spent three and a half years working at Bank of America as an analyst, where clear thinking and the ability to break down complex problems quickly were daily requirements. That professional background has shaped how I approach teaching — I don't believe in overcomplicating things. If a concept can be explained simply, it should be.

Maths has been a constant throughout my education and career. Engineering relies on it entirely, and working in a fast-paced analytical environment reinforced my ability to apply it practically rather than just theoretically. I hold the CISI Investment Operations Certificate with Distinction, which reflects the standard of precision and attention to detail I bring to everything I do.

I'm patient, direct, and genuinely invested in helping students build confidence rather than just get through the next exam. I know what it feels like to find certain topics click all at once, and I enjoy being part of that moment for someone else.

About the lesson

I tailor every session to the student rather than following a fixed script. My starting point is always diagnosing where the gaps actually are — not just what they got wrong on the last paper, but why. From there I build understanding from first principles, because Maths at GCSE and A-Level rewards students who genuinely grasp the logic, not just those who've memorised the method.

Lessons typically run 60 minutes and are a mix of concept explanation, worked examples, and then the student attempting problems while I guide rather than just correct. I find that students learn far more from being walked through their own mistakes than from watching me solve things cleanly.

I studied Maths, Physics, and Economics at A-Level at a selective grammar school before going on to read Aerospace Engineering at university, where maths is the backbone of almost every module. I've also spent three years in a professional analytical environment, so I'm comfortable explaining things clearly and methodically to people at different levels of understanding.

My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-Level Maths students, particularly those who feel like they understand in class but lose confidence when working independently, or those targeting top grades and wanting exam technique alongside content.
