About Mathieu
I'm Mathieu, I'm 22 years old and I'm currently studying Business Analytics and Data Science at Católica Lisbon. I have always loved scientific fields and turned to computer science in 2018, I then studied at ULB in computer science from which I graduated with a bachelor's degree, with great distinction. I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge and teaching, whether in sport where I was a hockey coach for 3 years or by giving private lessons, which I have been doing since I was 17. My goal is for the student to understand what he is doing rather than learning it by heart. For this, I strive to find practical cases as well as concrete examples to explain these concepts which can often seem abstract, I conceive it.
Although IT is not everyone's passion, I also aim for the student to find what he is doing interesting, because I think that we always succeed better in what interests us.
A typical lesson is as follows: the student comes with questions about one or more subjects that he does not understand, so I go over the theory with him and accompany him in exercise sessions if this lends itself to it. I do not leave the student alone facing his sheet directly, but I expect him to gain autonomy in order to really be sure that he understands what he is doing.
