About Queenby

I am a graduate student studying at UCL. There are two main reasons why I chose to teach Mandarin part-time. Firstly, I personally love teaching. I have taught English to junior high school students in China in the form of large classes and have also worked as a private tutor. I have taught Chinese, mathematics, and physics courses to newly promoted students, but not limited to them; Another reason is that I want to earn some living expenses by myself

About the lesson

Interactive Games and Activities: I incorporate interactive games and activities to make learning Mandarin enjoyable and engaging. This could include language-based board games, memory matching games, or interactive digital resources.

Songs and Rhymes: I introduce Mandarin songs and rhymes to help children learn vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and develop a sense of rhythm. Singing along and repeating catchy tunes can make language learning more memorable and fun.

Role-Playing and Storytelling: I encourage role-playing and storytelling to help children practice using Mandarin in real-life scenarios. By acting out different roles or creating stories together, children can enhance their speaking and listening skills while boosting their creativity.

Visual Aids and Multimedia Resources: I utilize visual aids, flashcards, and multimedia resources such as videos and animations to support children's understanding of Mandarin vocabulary, grammar, and cultural aspects. Visuals help reinforce learning and make concepts easier to grasp.

Cultural Immersion: I integrate Chinese culture into lessons by introducing traditions, celebrations, and customs. This helps children develop a deeper appreciation for the language and builds cultural awareness.

Personalized Approach: I adapt my teaching methods to cater to each child's learning style and pace. By understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and interests, I can tailor the lessons to ensure maximum engagement and progress.
