About Kelsey
Hi! My name is Kelsey and my pronouns are She/Her. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Diego State University this past May with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Religious Studies. I am currently taking a gap year but hope to further my education and obtain my master's degree. My career goal is to become a high school history teacher. I hope to inspire others the same way I have been by some of my favorite teachers throughout my education!

I have become familiar working individually with students to review material taught in their class. I have learned to be patient and ensure that the students are understanding each aspect of the material before moving on. I like to use different approaches depending on who I am working with. For example, some people are visual learners, so I will go through lectures on my computer and do the lesson alongside them. Others may like hands-on learning techniques more, so I will be sure to use relevant examples that they may understand and interact more with them. During my last tutoring position, I often reviewed the teacher's powerpoint with them first, cleared up any confusion they may have had, then began working on one assignment at a time at their own pace. I am most familiar with being a tutor to middle schoolers, although I have worked with children in elementary school as well as a volunteer.
