About Ziwen
I graduated with biochemistry for my bachelor's degree and graduated with biomedical engineering for my master's degree at Northeastern University. I had multiple experiences in tutoring organic chemistry, especially in exam prep. I also helped one of my students score an A in her AP biochemistry class.

I specialize in helping students build a strong understanding of organic chemistry by breaking down complex reactions into simple, logical patterns. My lessons emphasize understanding why reactions happen, not just memorizing them.
My teaching style:
1. Concept-first approach: I explain the logic behind each reaction mechanism so students understand patterns instead of memorizing reactions.
2. Step-by-step problem solving: We work through problems systematically, identifying the reactants, reagents, mechanisms, and products.
3. Visual learning: I use reaction maps, mechanisms, and stereochemical drawings to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
4. Exam-focused instruction: I teach students how to recognize reaction patterns quickly and apply concepts efficiently during exams.
5. Interactive lessons: I encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning so we can identify misunderstandings and strengthen problem-solving skills.
