What's up! I'm RJ, and I want to help you feel super confident every time you sit down to do math. If math ever feels confusing, scary, or just plain annoying, don't worry. You’re not alone, and we’re going to fix that together! I'm easy to get along with and will take my time to help you get it down pat! I'm like a big brother helping you with your homework, except I'm 10 times cooler. In my room, we focus on progress, not perfection. Mistakes aren't a bad thing here—they just show us where we need to tweak our plan to get stronger! I bring a lot of energy, high-fives, and encouragement to every lesson. Math doesn't have to be boring or frustrating when you’ve got a great coach in your corner. Let’s team up and crush your math goals together!

What's up! I'm RJ, and I’m currently a full-time 6th-grade math teacher with a strong background in counseling and coaching. My goal isn't just to help students pass their next test—it's to remove the anxiety that so often surrounds math, build core confidence, and teach students how to think through complex problems step-by-step. I use the "I Do, We Do, You Do" Model. We start with clear, step-by-step demonstrations, move into guided practice together, and transition to independent execution once the student feels secure. A normal lesson plan for me starts with a quick 5-minute warm-up, 15 minutes to go into the topic, and 15 minutes of guided work, then independent work, and closing up with patching what might still be confusing. What makes me different is that I am looking for progress, not perfection. I have a very uplifting and charismatic personality, and know how to use it to connect to a person and help them reach their goals.
