About Alfred
I’m Alfie, I live in Devon when I’m not studying in uni. Truth be told I’ve not always been the best student, often finding myself in detentions or just not having any motivation whatsoever. However, once I passed my GCSEs I understood that the issue wasn’t me, nor my teachers. The issue was that for each teacher there are 30 students in most cases, and they simply cannot tailor their teaching to every student. During college I found a better strategy, my lecturers were thankfully understanding that I struggle in a large group. I’d go off into my own space and study my own way, answering questions and learning as I do them. This made me feel like I actually was learning something, come my AS level exams and my friends (who didn’t really see me doing much in class) were instantly saying that I must’ve cheated. Now although they still believe this, it doesn’t bother me much, because I know that I put in the work. In my own way.

I find that copying down what is being said or written isn’t the best approach for most students. I, like many others, learn much better through doing practical and hands-on work, asking questions when stuck and through this understanding everything you need to ace your exam. We can model your tutoring to exactly what works best for you; this way I get to understand how you learn and with each session I can help you with the gaps in your knowledge or small details in the most effective way.
