About Wagar
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring. My sessions are genuinely student-led, meaning the student's voice, goals, and progress drive every decision I make. I listen as much as I teach. I also work across three interconnected pillars of English — writing, comprehension, and speaking — which means I can help students see how these skills reinforce each other rather than treating them in isolation. Students leave my sessions not just with corrections, but with a clearer understanding of why something works.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in meeting students where they are. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, I tailor every session to the individual — their goals, their gaps, and their learning pace. For grammar and writing, I use real examples from students' own work as the starting point, so feedback always feels relevant and actionable. For reading and comprehension, I focus on building critical thinking skills alongside vocabulary, teaching students how to engage with a text rather than just decode it. For conversation and speaking, I create a low-pressure environment where fluency and confidence are built through natural dialogue, guided discussion, and constructive feedback.
