About Doyeon
As a recent IGCSE and IB graduate, I understand the challenges students face because I have experienced them myself. I completed the IB Diploma with a 44/45, including a 7 in Mathematics AA HL, achieved 10 A*s in IGCSE, including A*s in Extended Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, and scored 1550/1600 on the SAT (800/800 in Math).
I aim to create a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely, learn from their mistakes, and build confidence. I adapt my explanations and practice to each student’s level and goals, while helping them develop the skills to solve problems independently.

My teaching approach focuses on two things: strong conceptual understanding and targeted practice. I first make sure students understand why a method works, rather than simply memorizing steps. Then, we practice different types of questions, gradually increasing the difficulty.
A typical lesson includes a short review of previous material, explanation of the new concept, worked examples, and guided practice. I then help students identify mistakes and areas for improvement before finishing with a brief review and assignment of independent practice.
I tutor middle and high school Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, IB Mathematics AA SL, and SAT Math. As someone who recently completed these programmes with strong results, I can also share practical exam strategies from a student's perspective.
