I have tutored undergraduate and graduate students in writing essays, lab reports, and personal statements for job applications.
I build my students' confidence in their own writing by emphasizing their own autonomy as writers. I tell my students: "You're not bad writers. You just haven't found what works for you yet."
We develop a timeline for the task at hand (i.e. a paper, a cover letter). We do creative brainstorming sessions. And we adjust our plan as needed.
