About Sofia
Hi! My name is Sofia and I am the best person to help you reach your goals! I have a Master's degree in Education, and a minor in Spanish. I also speak Swedish and German.
I have worked as a teacher for many years, taught evening classes, and also done a lot of private tutoring in various subjects, both in-person and online.
I have experience teaching students of all ages, including adults.
I am a very patient, encouraging person and I will meet you where you are academically and work really hard to help you reach your goals. I truly believe that anything is possible when you set your mind to it.

A typical lesson would start with a two-minute "Do Now" to see where the student is in terms of knowledge of the specific topic. After that, we will go over whatever challenges the student has (and needs help with from me, the tutor.) I explain these challenges and give examples, and then the student tries on their own. When he/she feels comfortable, I let them work independently for a few minutes while I supervise and answer questions. At the end of the lesson, there is a two-minute Exit Ticket that the student needs to fill out to show me (and themselves) that they have mastered the assignment for that day.
My lessons can fit any age or grade level. Depending on what specific needs I notice in the student, I will accommodate the lessons as we go, to ensure maximum efficiency.
