About Mark
I have a bachelor's degree in anthropology with a specialisation in biological anthropology and a master's degree in archaeology specialising in bioarchaeology. I maintained high grades throughout both my undergraduate and postgraduate educations finishing my undergraduate education with a 3.5 GPA and a 2:1 for my master's degree, which was completed during COVID. My master's dissertation focused on the study of diet and weaning from human skeletal remains in Bronze Age Spain using carbon and nitrogen found in their teeth. I will be starting a PhD next Autumn in Portugal to continue my research in diet and migration but focusing more on the 16th century in Portugal.

I am an archaeologist with an undergraduate degree in anthropology from the United States and a postgraduate/master's degree in bioarchaeology from the United Kingdom. I have been a teaching assistant for multiple years in classes ranging from biological anthropology to cultural anthropology and human anatomy. I have specific expertise in archaeology/anthropology, history, and classics. But can teach in a range of classes from biology to sociology-related classes.
I am interested in helping students better understand their topics in the simplest form possible. It is important that they understand the topic enough for them to be able to teach others. Therefore, I will focus on instructing them and giving them tips to better understand the material and will have them teach it back to me. This will ensure that they have a better grasp on the subject matter. By asking open-ended questions, I will help them understand not just the topic but how this relates to the world around them. This will help to convey the importance of what they are learning and will make it more relevant for them no matter their interests.
