About Jojo

Hi! I'm Jojo, and I like to procrastinate by looking at other people's work to avoid doing my own. Ever since I started at uni, I have peer-reviewed works with other students and it has not only been a huge help to me but I found I really enjoy giving positive as well as constructive feedback and seeing the work get better and better with each version. I have more than 4 years tutoring experience and have loved every second, adapting to every style and tempo of learning. I also love to share my passion for languages; I teach German and English and also speak some Italian, French and Spanish! I await any response with patience and enthusiasm (the same way I will look at your work!).

I am original from Germany and I have moved around Europe during my 24 years of life, having lived in Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, and now in the Netherlands. Additionally, I was on an exchange semester in London and am now travelling through Australia. In Croatia, I went to an American international school (my English is therefore more American than British) and I graduated from highschool with a double diploma, one being the IB.

I've also been playing Rugby for 9 years, and have travelled many countires following this passion. I also just love anything outdoors, as well as bouldering!

About the lesson

I graduated with Honors from the Bachelor Literary Studies at Utrecht University. Though I love to read novels and creative work, when it comes to writing myself I found I am more of an academic type: I look out for structure, clear argumentation, fitting vocabulary, and a nice red thread that helps the reader understand your line of argumentation.

In my study programme we not only write a lot of academic essays, we also give heaps of presentations. I have been complimented with a clear, articulate speaking voice and a clear manner of presenting, so I would also be very happy to help with presentation skills, set-up, announciation, powerpoints etc.
Though my expertise lies in proof-reading and essay questions, I am also glad to help with any study skills, setting up a time table, preparation for exams, efficient note taking and highlighting, reviewing etc. Anything and everything to help you in your studies!

Additionally, I speak Germany, English and Dutch fluently (teach everything up to C1) and am proficient in Italian, French and Spanish (teach up to A2).
