About Nicholas
I am a scholar in Japanese Buddhism who has studied Japanese language, culture, and religion for 5 years. I am particularly interested in Japanese Shingon Buddhism in the 13th-15th centuries of Japanese history. I have taught courses on Japanese culture, history, and religion in the past, and I am a practicing Japanese Buddhist.

I make use of various textbooks and resources to teach Japanese vocabulary, grammar, speech, writing, and more at the high school, community college, and college level. I myself am competent at the JLPT N2 level, and I can teach up to the N3 level.
A typical tutoring session will include Japanese language dialogues and conversations as well as English conversations wherein I demonstrate and explain Japanese grammar, pronunciation, or cultural information.
I meet students where they are at and address their particular needs, interests, and goals!
