About Hunter
As someone who has been taking music lessons since 5 years old. I know that they can be stressful or even intimidating. I had that experience for many years and have learned how to ensure a healthy and positive lesson environment. For the past 8 years I have been giving 1 on 1 lessons for the Snare drum and I can assure you that you will see growth and have fun doing it if you work with me!

My lessons for Rudimental or Concert Snare drumming are for any age range or proficiency level. My Drum-set lessons are for any age range at a beginner to intermediate level. I believe in students having fun while learning an instrument. I ensure that each lesson the student gets to decide what to learn at the end. Whether that is a cool drum lick, a stick trick, or a new way of gripping the sticks. I believe the job of an educator is to guide the students on the path they want to take. There will not be any "that's not quite my tempo" lessons with me. A typical lesson will start with a warm-up and then we will go into whatever material the student is working on. If the lesson is an hour long then we would spend approximately 20-30 minutes on the material the student really wants to learn. The last 30 minutes will be split into a 15-20 fundamentals block and a "you choose" block for the last 10 minutes. The fundamentals block will be utilized to work on rudiments, form, and timing. The "you choose" block is when you get to tell me something you think is really cool or exciting and we will work on it together. In the past all of my students have loved this approach to lessons. When the student is excited and eager for their lesson then the work becomes easy and progress happens rapidly.
