About Majken

My name is Majken, and I have had an international upbringing that has given me a unique understanding of different cultures and ways of learning. I attended international IB schools in Shanghai and Hong Kong from preschool to high school, and I am currently studying International Business and Politics at Stockholm University.

I love sharing my knowledge and helping others achieve their goals. I am a social and engaged person who understands the importance of creating a safe and positive learning environment. I have worked closely with younger students through the Center for Refugee HK Homework Help Program and Reading Tree Hong Kong. These experiences have developed my ability to adapt my teaching to different ages and needs, and given me a great understanding of how to effectively help others learn.

About the lesson

English lessons
As a fully fluent speaker of both Swedish and English, I offer English lessons for all ages and levels, from preschool to high school. I have experience teaching English reading comprehension to students in grades 2–5 during my high school years. My lessons are interactive and focus on improving reading, writing, vocabulary and pronunciation through fun and practical exercises that are adapted to the student's needs. For high school and elementary school students, I can also help with more advanced reading comprehension, essay writing and academic writing. I provide tools for structuring texts, analyzing sources and improving grammar and fluency. The lessons are usually 60 minutes long but can be adapted to suit your needs.

IB teaching
With an IB degree (40 credits), I offer support in IB subjects such as Economics, Global Politics and English. I have amassed many effective IB resources, such as guides, sample questions and sample essays, that help adapt learning to the specific requirements and grading system of the IB. I help students understand complex concepts, structure essays according to IB guidelines and prepare for both internal and external assessments. The lessons are interactive, personalized and linked to real-life examples to make learning more engaging and relevant. This support is perfect for students who want to improve their grades or deepen their understanding of the subjects.
