About Alexis
I want young minds who are interested in STEM to succeed in a field that often seems rather daunting. I have quite a bit of experience fighting to get opportunities in the scientific field, including research labs, the marine mammal center, wildlife sanctuaries, and other positions that I want to teach other students how to reach. With a little bit of help, you can do and be whoever you want to. With my professional and student experience, I can hopefully guide you there.

My teaching method involves lesson plans where we first go over the topics necessary for your class, then we go through practice questions of different types depending on the subject. At the end of the tutoring session, we will do a short 5 question review "quiz" to see how you feel about the information, which will inform me how to structure for the next session.
Given my experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University, I have had students of many different ages - from 18 to 37 y.o., and have learned how to restructure my teaching methods to best suit specific students. This has given me the ability to change how I teach you so that you learn in the best possible way to influence success. The subjects I teach are: algebra, biology (marine and natural sciences), and college prep.
These lessons will best suit those up to middle school, but I will also make exceptions for students in high school and undergraduate who would like information about college success and STEM degree planning.
