About Vicki
I have an international baccalaureate high school diploma as well as two bachelors degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of Illinois. I am currently a DVM-PhD student meaning that I am in veterinary medical school and graduate school at the same time. I am passionate about making the biological sciences accessible and enjoyable to students of all ages and from all backgrounds. I am also happy to make accommodations for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD.
Throughout high school and college I participated in various volunteer tutoring programs and I have been a teaching assistant in the college of veterinary medicine at the University of Illinois.

My teaching approach is unique for each student individually but always begins by establishing trust. Through conversation and observation I make a point to understand how each student processes information. Some students need to read text while others learn through conversation or using images. I integrate these various learning tools to reinforce important topics. Most importantly, I ask my students for feedback and encourage them to ask questions.
I can tutor all levels of biology and biochemistry from grammar school through university courses.
