About Kaitlyn
I have been a tutor/teacher in NYC for the past two years and also have experience with substitute teaching throughout my college career. I specialize is English, specifically helping students who are struggling with their reading a writing skills. I have worked in larger classrooms, but find I prefer small group and one-on-one tutoring as I find its the most efficient way to ensure progress in a student's academic career. My biggest strength is keeping students engaged in learning and creating an safe space to be curious which I find really helpful to a student's academic success.

Lessons are tailored to each student based on their needs, incorporating variety of tactics for multisensory learning. I specialize in grades K-8, specifically with students who are performing below grade level in English. We focus on different letter sounds, blending sounds together to form words, spelling rules, and creating writing that is specific and flows well. I also help students engage and connect with the material through educational activities and games meant to make learning fun. My goal is to help build students' confidence and for them to find joy in reading and writing!
