About Jhester
Mabuhay! I am Jhester Rivera, and I am a dedicated online tutor who loves helping Grade 5 students master the Filipino language. My teaching method relies on active learning and scaffolded problem-solving, ensuring complex Filipino concepts—from grammar mechanics (balarila) to reading comprehension—are broken down into digestible, fun steps. A typical online lesson begins with a quick, five-minute interactive game or review to activate memory, followed by the introduction of the day’s core topic through clear slides and real-world examples. We then transition into guided practice—working through digital exercises and readings together—before your child takes the lead on independent challenges, leaving the final minutes for a visual summary and a reflective check for understanding.

I am proficient in Filipino, and naturally, I am ready to teach anyone and look forward to this opportunity.
My teaching method relies on active learning and scaffolded problem-solving, ensuring complex concepts are broken down into digestible, relatable steps. I don't just lecture; I use a collaborative approach that adapts to your unique learning style, incorporating retrieval practice, interactive visual anchors, and targeted feedback to build lasting retention. A typical lesson begins with a quick, five-minute review of prior material to activate your memory, followed by the introduction of the day’s core topic through clear, real-world applications. We then transition into guided practice—working through examples together—before you take the lead on independent challenges, leaving the final minutes for a summary and a reflective check for understanding.
