I’m Manish, an MSc in Operational Research from the University of Southampton, and I know many students feel anxious about maths. Techniques & methodology: Quick diagnostic first: short baseline quiz + conversation to identify strengths, gaps, and target grade. Structured plan: a weekly roadmap with bite-size goals for Trigonometry, Statistics, Geometry and Arithmetic. Explain → Example → Practice → Review: I model methods, we solve past-paper style questions together, then you practise independently with immediate feedback. Exam technique focus: mark-scheme language, common traps, timing drills, and “show working” for method marks. Active learning: Socratic questioning, error logs, and spaced repetition to lock in concepts long-term. Tools I use: interactive whiteboard, Desmos/GeoGebra, past papers (AQA/Edexcel/OCR), and homework with solutions. Lesson length: Standard: 60 minutes (most efficient for steady progress). Intensive/exam prep: 90 minutes when we need deeper practice or full past-paper runs. Flexible scheduling during evenings and weekends.
