About Namrata
During my Biomedical Sciences degree at the University of Manchester, I realised that strong foundations are essential for success in science. Once core concepts are understood, more advanced topics become much easier to grasp. Throughout my degree, I achieved high marks in research and scientific writing, including 84% in an extended essay, and studied subjects such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Virology. Alongside my studies, I worked as a Student Researcher at the University of Manchester Students' Union and completed a year-long placement as a Clinical Scientist at Pfizer. These experiences strengthened my professionalism, communication skills and appreciation of the importance of early, high-quality learning support. My aim is to help students build confidence, develop a genuine understanding of biology and establish the strong foundations they need to succeed.

I am a University of Manchester Biomedical Sciences graduate offering Biology tuition for students up to GCSE level (ages 15–16). My teaching focuses on explaining concepts in simple, easy-to-understand language before reinforcing learning through practice questions. For more challenging topics, I break concepts down step by step and ensure students apply their understanding through targeted exercises.
Every student learns differently, so I begin by understanding whether they are a visual learner, learn best through practice, or prefer theory-based explanations. My experience as a dance choreographer has taught me how to adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs, helping students build confidence as well as knowledge.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, which I find is the ideal length for maintaining concentration, with 1.5-hour sessions available for students who would benefit from extra support. I am happy to commit to regular weekly sessions while remaining flexible to accommodate changes when needed.
