About Akshjot
I currently work as a teacher at a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) college, where I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of learners. Having completed my DET (Diploma in Education and Training), I bring both formal training and hands-on experience to my private tutoring sessions. My background includes working closely with autistic learners and students with visual impairments, which has deepened my ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs. What makes my tutoring approach unique is the way I connect science to everyday life. I firmly believe that learning should be meaningful, not just memorised. For visual learners, I use tactile resources, diagrams, and storytelling techniques; for autistic learners, I focus on routine, structure, and clear, concrete explanations. My sessions are always student-centred. I take time to understand how each learner thinks, what motivates them, and what challenges they face. Then I tailor each lesson to build confidence, curiosity, and real comprehension—not just exam skills. My goal is to make science accessible, enjoyable, and empowering for every student, no matter their starting point.
