About Sofia
Born and raised in Costa Rica (yes that beautiful little country in Central America), my mom always spoke Spanish to me and my dad spoke in English. I didn't understand why they wouldn't just speak the same language, but now I'm extremely grateful for it.
Growing up I loved going to work with my mom, she worked at the Children's Hospital as a special education teacher. I definitely learned about vocation by watching her and assisting her with different assignments.
Back home in order to graduate as a Bachelor, you have to serve 150 hours of community service which I decided to dedicate to teaching English at Lifting Hands which is a non-profit organization that provides educational assistance to low income families.
After that I learned that teaching was definitely something I enjoy and decided to go to Hawaii as an Au-Pair nanny for 6 months. I implemented a Spanish beginners program for my kids and it was a great success.

I've always loved teaching, my mom is a special needs teacher so I learned from her how to be creative and patient when it comes to tutoring .
Let's get inventive and have fun. From beginners to advanced students, always down to share my love for my native language.
As a part time graphic designer, I have a soft spot for visual materials. Love a good class with interactive projects. Color coding words and determining what my students find interesting, in order to tailor each lesson.
Would start the program with phonetics and the fundaments of Spanish words. Finalizing it with some great conversational lessons.
