I have WACE ATAR experience from my secondary studies in English literature, human biology, mathematics applications, geography and chemistry. I completed WACE with a 91 ATAR in 2016.
During my tertiary studies I specialised in science - human biology and genetics. I have a bachelor of science majoring in human anatomy and human genetics, specialising in chemistry, data analysis and human-structure and function.
Additionally I have an honours degree by research in human reproduction, publishing a thesis elucidating prenatal opioid exposure and immune conditions in children.
Currently I am a medical scientist in the field of Molecular Immunogenetics. I specialise in DNA extraction and Third Generation Sequencing of HLA genes, for immune sensitivities and solid organ transplantation.
My personal strength is my written communication, within the realm of English literature. Combining this with my passion for science, I am a skilled medical researcher. Furthermore, my down to earth nature makes me an excellent communicator and dedicated tutor.
I strongly believe a student-personalised and adaptive approach is most effective for tutoring. I tailor my teaching style to the individual student’s learning needs, preferences and pace. I use a variety of teaching methods and resources to keep sessions engaging and explore different learning styles. I encourage active participation, provide constructive feedback and provide teaching strategies based on the student’s progress. I strongly believe that building a positive and supportive relationship with each student, enhances the effectiveness of one’s tutoring approach.
