About Yunzhang
Hello! I’m a third-year History student at the University of Oxford, and I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed academically and in the job market. As someone who didn't have any support when applying to universities and jobs, I hope to democratise access to important information that can give you an edge when applying. I've also vetted multiple personal statements, CVs, and cover letters, with my own personal statement being accepted into 5/5 of the universities on UCAS and my CVs and cover letters passing 99% of job screenings. I've been in your shoes before -- I understand the uncertainty that comes with applications, and want to reduce that for you. I am a third-year History student at the University of Oxford, with experience tutoring humanities subjects as well as supporting students with academic and job applications. I have helped review and refine personal statements, CVs, and cover letters, and can guide students in presenting their achievements effectively if you don't know where to start. I also have a near 100% interview pass rate, and can conduct mock interviews as well. I take a structured, personalised approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students understand concepts clearly and build strong analytical and writing skills. I break down complex ideas into manageable steps and use examples, discussion, and guided practice to make lessons engaging and accessible. I always tailor my teaching style to each student’s ability, goals, and learning pace. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with flexibility depending on the student’s needs. I provide regular feedback and short follow-up tasks to reinforce learning.
