About Rachna
I am a graduate of the University of Oxford with an MA in History and a First Class BA in History and English Literature, and I teach because I truly enjoy working with students and helping them grow in confidence. I know that subjects like English, History, and French can sometimes feel overwhelming, and my aim is to make learning feel clearer, more manageable, and even enjoyable. I take a friendly, patient, and supportive approach, tailoring each lesson to the student’s needs and learning style, whether they are building core skills or preparing for exams. Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, proud of their progress, and confident in their abilities.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style, breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and using active questioning, guided practice, and regular feedback to ensure genuine understanding.
Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes and include a short recap, focused work on new material or problem areas, and a brief summary to consolidate learning. I hold a First Class Honours MA and BA degree from University of Oxford, with extensive experience working with children and students through tutoring, volunteering, and academic leadership roles.
My lessons are suited for primary, secondary, and pre-university students and I adapt my teaching to meet individual academic needs and curriculum requirements.
