About Iris

I am a graduate from the University of Leeds with a confident and bubbly personality. I developed an interest in language learning in secondary school thanks to my motivational teacher. However, the traditional methods of memorising textbooks and vocabulary at university were not highly engaging and pretty useless when faced with a native speaker. I would like to adapt learning to make it as interesting as possible and to nurture effective language skills that are applicable in real life scenarios (not spend 4 lessons analysing the contents of a pencil case).

About the lesson

Through tutoring English during my study abroad programme, I learnt to become more engaging and fulfilling by removing the monotonous memory-recall aspect of language learning. I believe that a student will excel most in a fun and humorous environment where they feel comfortable and learn to gain an interest in their subject. My lessons would be 1-2 hours long and they would involve online teaching materials as well as games and quizzes. I am open to teaching all ages and levels as I have a genuine passion in the French language and would love to help others develop their language skills.

Perfect! Iris is a fabulous French tutor! She is fun, engaging and great at explaining and tailoring the class to our needs. We jumped in to what we wanted to get out of the class so Iris can help teach us “functional French” with the local dialects.
It was a lot of fun and there was no judgement with pronunciation. I’m excited for more lessons :) couldn’t recommend more. 5/5

Perfect! My first lesson with Iris was engaging, fun and targeted to my needs. We hit the ground running, she gave my brain a work out, and by the end of the hour I felt like I had truly begun to learn conversational French. I am extremely pleased that I was able to find Iris as my French Tutor.

My daughter Iris has a passion for speaking french and is keen to pass this on to others. She works hard and recognises the importance of making it fun and still understanding every one learns differently . The importance of keeping things relaxed but productive, are a high priority on her tutorials . Iris would never let you down especially if you want to learn the language .
