About Tyler

I love to teach! To instruct a student, friend, family member or stranger and see that person grow as a result is something I take great pride in. Though I have taught in a handful of environments as a tutor and paraprofessional in the past, I feel especially well-equipped and excited to instruct students in their study of Spanish. I've spent nearly half of my life as a student of Spanish and have enjoyed the rewards of that time spent by seeing myself grow as a professional through my use of Spanish in my career. However, another benefit of that time spent is that I am now well aware that it need not take that much time to reap the rewards of learning of a new language! Perspective and context are key when learning a language, and I would love to share some of the perspective and context I've gained in my time learning Spanish to help students in maintaining efficiency in their studies as well.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Tyler and I would love to help any and all students with their studies of Spanish. Being a graduate of the University of Kansas' Spanish program and an on-the-job speaker of Spanish for two years, I am equipped to help students with:

- Understanding of Spanish grammatical and conversational concepts
-Practical execution of these concepts in assigned coursework (writing, speaking and thinking in Spanish!)
-Extending understanding of the Spanish language beyond its place as a topic of coursework--it is a vibrant language with application and nuance found around the globe!

Ideally, I'm looking to work alongside students of any age who are looking for extra support in their current Spanish studies. As someone who has spent over 10 years learning Spanish in middle school, high school and university classrooms, I am acutely aware of the disconnect between Spanish learned in the classroom and application of that knowledge in the real world. It is my wish to be able to share my experience of this process with students who may find the task too daunting to tackle. I've been there before! However, because of this, I am in a great position to help any and all students to glean the most impactful information from each and every lesson of their journey in studying Spanish.
