About Paul
I am ever-growing in my knowledge of the English language. Even though I’ve graduated, I continue to read 10-12 books per month. Additionally, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Language and Literature. My desire to understand language and narrative structure is strong, so if you want to learn how to really understand a text and learn how to probe it through questions, you will enjoy working with me.

I specialize in teaching new criticism which is the art of reading a text and analyzing its contents based on the text itself and the different literary devices that are used. Biographical notes of authors are helpful but they are not needed to understand a text. I teach students how to understand a text on its own terms based off of how it was built. When you learn how to do this with different texts, you will even be able to start learning other subjects quicker than before.
