About Samantha
Hello! I'm Samantha, a software engineer with an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol. I enjoy making programming accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for learners of all ages, especially beginners who are taking their first steps into coding.
My academic and technical background includes Python, JavaScript, React, SQL, and software engineering, giving me a strong understanding of both programming fundamentals and real-world software development. I believe that programming is not just about writing code—it also develops logical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
I am a patient, supportive, and approachable tutor who adapts lessons to each student's learning pace and interests. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning through hands-on projects.
Whether your child is exploring Scratch for the first time or progressing to Python, I aim to make every lesson enjoyable, practical, and rewarding while helping them build confidence and develop a genuine interest in technology.

My lessons are tailored to each student's age, experience, and learning style. Whether your child is taking their first steps in programming or wants to build confidence in coding, I create engaging, structured lessons that make learning enjoyable and achievable.
For younger learners, I introduce programming through Scratch, helping them develop logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills by building games and interactive projects. As students become more confident, I gradually introduce Python, teaching programming concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and debugging through practical, hands-on exercises.
I believe students learn best by doing rather than simply following instructions. I encourage them to think independently, ask questions, experiment with different solutions, and build confidence in solving problems themselves. Every lesson includes plenty of opportunities for practice, discussion, and feedback.
Lessons can be delivered online or in person in Bristol, depending on location and availability.
