About Louie
I was born in Canton, Ohio and have always enjoyed writing as a bit of a hobby while growing up. It wasn't until I attended Miami University where I decided to pursue it more throughout the majority of my classes and even my majors. Not only did I write essays based on various movies and books from different cultures and time periods, but I also took classes to hone in on my creative work, particularly with Star Wars stories (my favorite franchise of all time). To better work with these skills, I joined the Miami Association of Creative Writers and got elected to be the workshop coordinator, where I led and scheduled reviews of other club members' work and ensured thoughtful discussions and feedback were being given out. It was also there where I met some of my closest friends from college and where I was able to learn how to be a mentor to others and ensure their passions for writing.

My lessons will be based around a particular idea or skillset that either storytelling or professional writing has to offer, and then apply it in a small example for the students to learn from. For example, when I teach a lesson on character dialogue, I discuss what it is and how it can be good or bad, with the students offering up their own ideas on what their goals are in writing it. Afterwards, I give them a prompt and write based on the lesson of dialogue I taught them, and offer my feedback in a constructive way. Essentially, my lessons will be geared towards what students want to work most on their writing, creatively or professionally, and help them improve in these areas while maintaining their strengths.
For my lessons, they're mainly geared towards middle school students, high school students, and college level students, as it's around that time where writing assignments begin to intensify, and where formatting such as MLA really plays a part in most English classes.
