About Huy
My name is Huy Dang Vu, and I’m a freshman at UMass Amherst with a passion for academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement. During my high school years at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, I maintained a stellar GPA of 9.5, building on the foundation of success I established at Nguyen Du Secondary School, where I graduated with a GPA of 9.7 and multiple awards, including First Prize in the Excellent Student Competition for Biology. Throughout my journey, I’ve taken on various leadership roles that allowed me to grow and contribute to my communities. As Vice-President of the Le Hong Phong Drama Club, I managed a team of 45 members, organized theatrical productions, and facilitated acting workshops. This experience enhanced my skills in collaboration and creative problem-solving. Additionally, I co-founded Latte For Life, where I write motivational content, create podcasts, and raise awareness about mental health challenges faced by students. I’ve also been active in volunteering and mentoring. Through KIPE Vietnam, I provided free English lessons to help students prepare for their entrance exams, honing my teaching skills along the way. My participation in HTV 7’s gameshow showcased my ability to lead under pressure while contributing to a meaningful cause. In my free time, I enjoy reading, public speaking, and engaging in sports like swimming and badminton. My diverse experiences reflect my commitment to personal growth and making a positive impact on those around me.
