About Amelia
I recently graduated early from Hawai'i Pacific University with honors. I obtained a bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor in Marketing. While earning my degree, I was a writing tutor for students who did not learn English as their first language. I also worked with students on essay writing and college admission essays.

As a tutor, I believe in creating a supportive and interactive environment. My approach centers on personalization, creativity, and patience. I focus on breaking down concepts into digestible steps, using real-world examples to allow for easier learning.
For reading and writing, I apply strategies like guided reading, active discussion, and critical thinking exercises to enhance comprehension, vocabulary, and writing structure.
For math, I use step-by-step explanations and problem-solving exercises that emphasize conceptual understanding before moving on to more advanced applications. I always encourage active participation and ask students to verbalize their thought processes to deepen their understanding.
My goal is to keep students engaged and motivated while also ensuring that the material is relatable and useful for students.
My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners, from elementary school students struggling with foundational skills to high school students tackling more advanced material. I can work with students on specific subjects or topics, whether it’s grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing, algebra, geometry, or statistics.
