About Rachel
I genuinely love helping students grow, not just academically, but in confidence. I understand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming, and my goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable, encouraged, and capable.
With experience working in structured after-school programs and training in supporting elementary-aged students, including those with behavioral and individualized learning needs, I bring patience, consistency, and understanding to every session. I take the time to truly get to know each student so I can teach in a way that makes sense to them.
Families can count on me to be prepared, reliable, and communicative. I celebrate progress big and small and work closely with students to help them build skills, independence, and self-belief. My greatest reward is seeing a student go from “I can’t do this” to “I’ve got it!”

I take a personalized, student-centered approach to tutoring. I begin by assessing each student’s strengths, learning style, and areas for growth. From there, I design customized lesson plans that align with their academic goals and build both skill and confidence.
My teaching method combines clear instruction, interactive practice, and real-world application. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and use engaging activities to reinforce understanding. For younger students especially, I incorporate positive behavior strategies and structured routines to create a supportive and focused learning environment.
A typical lesson includes a brief review of previous material, introduction of a new concept, guided practice, independent application, and a closing check for understanding. I also provide feedback and small goals for continued progress.
What sets me apart is my background in working with elementary-aged students in structured afterschool programs, along with training in behavioral support and individualized learning techniques. I understand that every student learns differently, and I adjust my teaching style accordingly.
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students who need academic support, enrichment, homework help, or structured skill-building in a positive and encouraging setting.
