About Emma
I’ve been teaching art for 27 years, and in that time I’ve worked in both mainstream schools and SEN settings, as well as leading a department as Head of Art.
What that means for you is that I understand that everyone learns differently. Some of you might already feel confident, while others might find art more challenging or feel unsure where to start—and that’s completely fine. I’ve spent years helping all kinds of students find their way, build skills, and develop confidence in their own work.
As a teacher, my goal is to support you as individuals. I’ll help you develop your ideas, improve your techniques, and guide you through your GCSE or A-level course in a way that works for you. I want you to feel supported, challenged in the right way, and proud of what you achieve.
Art isn’t about being perfect—it’s about progress, creativity, and finding your own voice. That’s what I’m here to help you do.

I know that GCSEs and A-levels can feel stressful, and sometimes art can become more about grades than creativity. I want to help you find a balance between the two—so you can meet the requirements, but also create work that actually means something to you.
I’m here to support you, especially when things feel challenging. Whether you’re struggling with ideas, confidence, or techniques, I want to help you push through those moments and realise what you’re capable of.
Most of all, I want you to leave art not just with a grade, but with pride in your work and a stronger belief in your own creativity.
