About Zachary
Hello!
My name is Zachary Melahoures, and I am a first-year medical student with an extensive tutoring background that began when I was in eighth grade.
In 2025, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology (BCMB) with a minor in Biology and a concentration in Biophysics. Since then, I have completed my first year of medical school and am currently studying to become a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
As someone with both ASD and ADHD, I understand that students learn in different ways and that concepts are not always explained in a manner that resonates with everyone. Because of this, I strive to meet students where they are and adapt my teaching approach to their individual needs. One of the most rewarding examples of this was tutoring a visually impaired student in organic chemistry, where I developed alternative methods to help communicate highly visual concepts.
Beyond tutoring, I enjoy mentoring students and helping them navigate their academic journeys. Whether you need study strategies, guidance on coursework, or overall life advice, feel free to reach out!

- I go off of specific questions or concepts provided by the student so that I can best tailor their individualized lesson plan and our time spent together.
- I will interview the student to determine their current academic history and study habits to create a detailed study schedule so that they can rely more on themselves and decrease the need for future tutoring sessions.
- Typically, I plan to provide students with videos to watch on their own time (either created by me or through a third party resource) and create practice problems to engage the student and help them solve problems they may find difficult.
- I can best help those in high school or those enrolled in undergraduate programs. There would be no problem in helping fellow medical students as well, but I would have to limit my help to those who are in their first year.
