I am a B.com graduate from the University of Calcutta, teaching English since 5 years. First, I read out the whole story to my student, in details. Then I explain it word by word. Then, I ask my student to explain what he has learnt, in his own words. This is followed by the word meanings and questions and other textual problems. I take weekly tests and clear doubts on daily basis.
