My name is Cole Labrie, I am an experienced musician and tutor with a passion for music. I have had over eight years of experience in music and hold a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have performed on stage and am proficient in five different instruments, including piano, drums, bass, guitar, and ukulele. I am passionate about helping students reach their musical goals and strive to make my lessons fun and engaging. I provide personalized instruction and feedback tailored to each student's needs, as well as support and guidance throughout the learning process. About the lesson

My guitar lessons are designed to help beginners reach their musical goals. I'll start by teaching you the fundamentals of guitar playing, such as learning chords, scales, and strumming patterns. As you progress, I will introduce more advanced concepts such as music theory, sight-reading, and improvisation. Additionally, I can help you learn to play your favorite songs. I will provide guidance, instruction, and tips to help you on your journey to mastering the guitar.

Guitar Lesson Plan Sample (will look different depending on students' experience):

Week 1:
- Introduction to the Guitar: Parts of the guitar, how to hold the guitar, proper posture, and technique.

- Learning Chords: Major and minor chords, chord shapes, chord progressions.

Week 2:
- Strumming Patterns: Downstrokes, Upstrokes, and other strumming patterns.

- Scale Patterns: Major and minor scale patterns, pentatonic scales, and modes.

Week 3:
- Fingerpicking: Basic techniques such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, and slides.

- Improvisation: Learning to play by ear, soloing over chord progressions.

Week 4:
- Music Theory: Understanding key signatures, time signatures, and chord progressions.

- Sight-Reading: Reading notes on the staff, understanding rhythms and time signatures.

Week 5:
- Review: Going over concepts covered in the previous weeks.

- Songs: Learning to play songs using the techniques learned in the preceding weeks.
