About Anoushka
Hello, I am Anoushka Roy. I am currently doing my Masters in English out of pure passion for the subject. English is a subject that many tend to overlook as "easy" or "unnecessary in daily life". I wish to show my students how knowledge of English can impact very important parts of their lives and how their brains function — enhancing their critical thinking, listening skills and reading comprehension, providing them withthe basic foundation needed to be an all-rounded scholar. Many people tend to not study the subject properly, in the proper manner, thus getting low grades in it. I wish to guide the students on the learning process so that their grades can automatically rise with the proper amount of effort — not overworking themselves but not under-working either.

I believe in teaching students how to study rather than how to memorize. I would mainly wish to focus on middle school and high school students (class 8 to 12). English is a subject that is critical in developing a student's critical thinking and reading comprehension and I wish to guide the student so that they understand how to think for themselves and form their own opinions regarding the texts. Teaching in a conversational manner and learning with the students rather than lecturing at them is important to me. I would try to teach short batches at a time and focus on each individual student with his or her individual needs. Relating contemporary media or trends to the texts of literature would also make it easier on both the students and me to make the classes interesting.
