About Jayti
Hi!
I'm a mathematics and physics tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students go from "I don't get this" to "wait, that's actually easy." My focus is on building real understanding, not just memorizing methods, because shortcuts only work if you know why they work.
I teach because I remember what it felt like to sit in a math class feeling lost while everyone else seemed to get it. That feeling is almost never about ability.
I work mostly with secondary students (Years 7–13) on mathematics and physics. Lessons are online and tailored to where each student actually is. I'm patient, encouraging, and happy to explain something five different ways until one clicks.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I start every first lesson by figuring out exactly where the gaps are, rather than assuming what a student does or doesn't know. From there, I build lessons around clear worked examples, guided practice, and lots of low-pressure checking-in so students feel safe to say "I don't get it." I focus on building genuine understanding of concepts, not just memorizing methods, so the learning sticks for exams and beyond.
Typical length of lesson:
Lessons are typically 1.5 hours, held online with a shared digital whiteboard so we can work through problems together in real time. The first 30 mins of lesson, I cover homework and any schoolwork the student wants to revise. I usually set a small amount of targeted practice between sessions to reinforce what we've covered.
Who the lessons are for:
I tutor mathematics and physics for students studying the Cambridge IGCSE to A-Levels in Yr 11 and Yr13. I also tutor Mathematics and basic Sciences for intermediate to Year 10 students.
Whether a student is catching up, keeping pace, or aiming for top marks, I tailor the pace and content to suit them. I'm patient, encouraging, and believe every student can succeed in mathematics with the right support.
