About Samantha
I have been teaching violin for over 3 years, and I enjoy helping students build both practical playing skills and a strong understanding of music. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Violin Pedagogy. My lessons combine technical development with musical knowledge in a simple and enjoyable way.
I integrate music theory, aural skills, and sight reading into every lesson so students understand the music they play. This approach is especially helpful for students preparing for music theory exams and those who want to develop advanced harmony skills. One student found music theory difficult at first, but after connecting scales and intervals to violin exercises, they became much more confident in both written and practical exams.
I teach scales, intervals, harmony, bowing techniques, and fingering patterns together instead of treating them as separate topics. This helps students see how theory and performance naturally support each other. My lessons also improve listening skills, rhythm, and musical accuracy.
I enjoy working with music exam candidates as well as students who simply want to become stronger and more complete musicians. Every lesson is adapted to match individual goals and learning speed. I believe understanding music makes playing the violin more enjoyable and rewarding. Together, we will help you become a well-rounded and confident violinist with strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

My teaching approach encourages creativity while helping students build strong violin skills. I welcome beginners, intermediate learners, and experienced players who want to explore their own musical ideas. Every lesson is planned to match your interests and learning goals.
We work on creative composition for violin, arranging existing melodies, writing original pieces, improvisation, music theory, ear training, rhythm, tone production, and exploring non traditional sounds. These activities help students think beyond written music and express themselves with confidence. I introduce each idea through simple exercises before turning them into complete musical pieces.
For example, I often ask students to create a new ending for a familiar melody using their own ideas. This builds confidence and encourages creative thinking without making the process feel difficult. Regular feedback helps students improve while developing their own musical style.
I also enjoy helping adults who want to build confidence through music and students who create videos or original content with the violin. My lessons encourage imagination, steady progress, and personal expression in every session. Together, we will compose your own violin story and help your musical voice grow naturally.
