Hello future students!
My name is Michael Hickey- I'm passionate about all things related to STEM; my specialty is in the field of Chemical Engineering.
I love helping students, regardless of knowledge level, learn topics that previously seemed impossible to learn. With an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering (South Dakota Mines) and a graduate degree (M.S., South Dakota Mines) in Chemical Engineering, being able to share my knowledge with students greatly excites me!

My lessons utilize a "leading the horse to water" methodology where answers are not given upfront; rather, the student is "led" to the answer through their own thought processes.
Lesson plans are unique for every student; however, are generally structured around an initial review of progress/reading, discussing learning impediments, and then covering specific questions.
These lessons are for middle school, high school, and undergraduate college students.
Since my background in research is in bioprocess-related chemical engineering, my skillset is uniquely valuable to students interested in chemistry/engineering-related subjects. Maths concepts are used heavily in engineering, so I can help with math subjects as advanced as Calculus II.
