About Robyn

I am a Psychology graduate with professional experience supporting and tutoring children and young people, including those with additional educational needs. I currently work as an SEN tutor and really enjoy helping learners build their confidence and realise what they’re capable of.

I’m a big believer that learning doesn’t have to feel like a chore. I love finding creative and fun ways to teach, particularly by incorporating a student's own interests into our sessions. Building a positive relationship with my students is really important to me, and I like them to feel that they can relax, have a laugh and be themselves while still making genuine progress.

I’ve always had a genuine love of English and literature, particularly reading and creative writing. My Psychology background also helps me understand how differently people learn and the importance of adapting my approach to the individual. I’m friendly, patient and encouraging, and I aim to create an environment my students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without feeling pressured.

About the lesson

My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual learner. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their ability, confidence and interests. I have experience tutoring children and young people, including learners with SEN, and focus on making English enjoyable and accessible rather than overwhelming.

I can support students with reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, grammar and general English skills, as well as building confidence in areas they may find difficult. Lessons are engaging, patient and completely personalised, with activities adapted to the learner rather than using a one size fits all approach. Learning should be fun, and I always make sure my students have enjoyed every session they do with me.
