About Amanda
I’ve always known i wanted to work with children in some fashion. The day after graduating high school i got a job at a local daycare working with children. My days looked different, as i floated between the classrooms and worked with all ages. At the beginning of college, i did some volunteer work at a local elementary school. These experiences allowed me to recognize my connection with elementary aged children, which ultimately led me to majoring in elementary education. Once graduating, I got a job as a first grade teacher. I then shifted to teaching 3rd grade mathematics, which is where my true passion lies!

Lessons with me will look different depending on what needs need to be met. Everyone is a different learner, so as we get to know one another the lessons may shift to meet your learning style! For mathematics, I love to incorporate a lot of hands on work, as well as games and visuals to make the concepts connect. As for early reading, I am a huge advocate for the science of reading, which incorporates tons of hands on using play dough, pop its, and more!
