About Alex
I have been playing instruments for over 15 years - drums from the age of 14 and a little piano before that.
I soon began performing with a number of groups in the North East such as the award-winning Big Band Paraffernalia alongside the Gateshead Youth Orchestra and one-off collaborations like A Night in Celebration of Musicals. This was all underpinned by my musical theory as I obtained Grades 1-8 in quick succession by the age of 18, covering mastery of rock, pop, Latin and fusion styles - increasingly covering a mixture of those styles.
I am highly personable and thrive in using my experience to bring out the best in students to make sure they achieve and even surpass their goals.

I make use of schemes such as Trinity Guildhall and RockSchool to develop students' ability to play both accompanied and unaccompanied. I particularly help students to play the songs they love as I feel this is key in keeping them engaged - I know from experience that it is key to play what you are passionate in not just what feels like work or a chore.
I offer competitive rates including group-and block-bookings and am available for travel across the West Midlands and slightly beyond for certain cases.
