About Ross
I’m passionate about helping students think critically and genuinely understand Biology, rather than relying on memorisation alone. I use a Socratic approach in my lessons, asking structured questions that encourage students to explain ideas in their own words, build connections between topics, and become more confident tackling unfamiliar questions.
I also believe exam preparation should feel manageable, not overwhelming. A big focus in my teaching is showing students how to properly learn from mark schemes and develop effective revision habits through consistent “little and often” exam practice.
I’m professional, friendly, and always willing to listen, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence.

I am a dedicated Biology tutor with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology, specialising in AQA, OCR, Edexcel International A Level, and IGCSE Biology. My expertise includes cell biology, genetics, human physiology, ecology, and biochemistry.
With nearly three years of teaching experience, over 300 tutorials delivered, and a 100% pass rate, I help students strengthen both subject understanding and exam technique. I am highly familiar with specification requirements, practical skills, and mark scheme expectations across major exam boards.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and use a structured Socratic approach to encourage critical thinking, deeper understanding, and independent problem-solving.
